17" Adirondack Guideboat. Very light, but will last for years, with minimal upkeep.

Manufacture's construction process video link is below.

Offered below the kit purchase price, this finished 400 hour kit built boat is every bit as exquisite as it looks. Like new condition. Oars galore (5). Is it a museum piece, or fully worthy of lake/river fishing per its design? Well, it's every bit of both. But, best of all, my wife found it very romantic for our bay cruises. Effortlessly cuts the water quick.

The factory built version is $17,000. The kit is $5,200, if you have 400 hours. The factory built oars are $450. And add three more oars.

Here's the boat's story:

"It takes us about 400 hours to build one. They are considered to be the finest Kayak and Canoe alternatives of their type in the world. Contemporary materials and techniques with the traditional form of the Adirondack Guideboat. Each piece of wood is carefully selected and joined—one to the next. The exterior of our wooden boat is covered with a protective layer of nearly invisible epoxy and fiberglass. Strong, elegant, beautiful. Given a modest degree of care our boats are built to last many lifetimes."

The boat's hull is built with western red cedar, spruce ribs and stems, a pine bottom board, cherry gunnels and decks and ash rub-strips. The Cedar Guideboat includes two maple oars, three cherry caned seats, one cherry caned backrest for the stern seat, one cherry caned backrest with adjustable leather straps that moves between the bow and center seat, one cherry footrest, Okume floor boards, and two sets of oarlock straps.

Rare find, especially on the West Coast.
